Years ago in our villages were used for baptism fonts
called in greek kolymbithres made of
clay instead of the bronze that are used
today. A sample of a clay font we see in the photo ( now whitewashed used as decorative). In orthodox baptism the priest immerses the baby three times into the font (kolymbithra)
filled with blessed water saying three times :
"The servant of God (name) is baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
"The servant of God (name) is baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
